And if a home is lovely, it can be located in a noisy neighborhood. Is there a lot of work going on in your immediate vicinity? Is a sporting arena close by? Perhaps it's just a matter of getting too close to a busy street. It's sometimes worth it to go through the hassle if you're in a spectacular spot.

However, in most cases, you will find a house in the same price range without noise problems. Consider passing by the place around peak hour to get a sense of how noisy it is.
