27. Drainage Issues
We have already stated that the home you are considering purchasing may be in a flood zone. Poor drainage in town planning is one of the signs that you are going to have a problem. Since there are no storm drains, some residential streets flood every time it rains.
This thing is a significant warning sign and one of the first indications that things could get a lot worse during a bad rainstorm or blizzard. Excess water could leak into your basement, destroying your foundation and causing mold to grow in your home. After it has rained, still drive past the house to check the road conditions.
