21. Vertical design
The vertical orientation of lines and designs was fundamental to Greek interior designers, both ancient and contemporary, and is wonderfully reflected in columns' Greek tradition. Old designers at Grecian used the Entasis concept to correct optical illusions along vertical lines because they were crucial to their aesthetics.
Bring this idea into your home; to pull the eye up and build a feeling of vertical space, consider a vertical indoor garden or a long, thin rug. Greek houses typically have high ceilings, but low ceilings are not a breaking factor as long as you work with that restriction to create a sense of vertical movement.
