5. Hearst Castle
Hearst Castle could arguably be one of the most famous mansions in the world. It is also a renowned tourist destination in central California. Media magnate William Randolph Hearst and historic female architect Julia Morgan. were the founders of such an estate.
The sprawling, palatial estate sports an elegant entrance, taking inspiration from the Church of Santa María la Mayor in Spain. Furthermore, it also followed the Spanish Colonial Revival style. The place has become the inspiration behind Citizen Kane’s Xanadu, Charles Foster Kane's home.
