33. Pittock Mansion
This old American home is a French Renaissance castle style house initially built in 1914 as the primary residence for Henry Pittock, Oregonian publishing house. The 46-room house is made from Tenino Sandstone from Washington State. It includes panoramic views of downtown Portland thanks to its location in the West Hills neighborhood.
The house was extensively renovated in 1965 and now serves as a community landmark with an estimated 80,000 visitors per year. Due to its location and altitude above sea level, the mansion's grounds are a unique, great place to watch birds, attracting tourists here.
