24. Pabst mansion

Pabst Mansion, built for Frederick Pabst, the founder of Pabst Brewing Company, is located at 2000 Wisconsin Avenue in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Architect George Bowman Ferry designed the house in the Flemish Renaissance style, taken from various classical Italian types.

Despite its massive scale and unique architecture, the mansion was once demolished and replaced with a parking ramp. It was only saved when a historic conservation group acquired the building from the Milwaukee Archdiocese. The villa is still open every day to the public and was once a shooting location for a TV drama.
