30. San Marcos Castillo
The oldest masonry fort in the United States is a Spanish stone castle in St. Augustine, Florida, built more than 315 years ago to protect Spain's claims to the New World. Moreover, it is now a National Monument, where visitors can see chambers where troops and prisoners once resided.
