10. Smithsonian Institute Castle
People can find this Norman-style castle near the National Mall in Washington, D.C. It was built of red sandstone in 1855 and served as Joseph Henry's residence and office (the first Secretary of the Smithsonian). Today, however, it serves as the Smithsonian Institute's visitor center.
