15. Playhouse Discovery Pod
Discovery Pod Playhouse is an 880-square-meter structure designed by Barnes Vanze Architects as an item used for charity auctions. The Mondrian color block model on the side of the house will be known by fans of modern art, making this elegant and appealing to parents, and vibrant and enjoyable. Inside the house, there is a chalkboard wall, a loft, and a window on the floor, because they plan to install an underground aquarium. The house is also completely insulated and decorated like a real house.
Because this was created for charity, the article about it in Architect Magazine does not include the final price. And because this was designed by an architectural firm that usually builds full-size houses, it's unlikely they will create another home anytime soon. This also provides a perfect example, though, of how the donor must always be someone in a storybook. Since this looks like a piece of art, parents will appreciate it in their backyard, like building offices long after their children grow.
